Tim Smith was elected as the Member for Kew in November 2014. In February 2015, Tim was appointed Shadow Parliamentary Secretary to the Leader of the Opposition and Shadow Parliamentary Secretary for Population Population Policy and Housing Affordability.

Tim grew up in Camberwell and attended Scotch College in Hawthorn, before obtaining a Bachelor of Arts and a Masters in International Relations at the University of Melbourne and studying at the London School of Economics.

Tim lives in Kew.  He worked as a senior consultant at a leading Australian professional services firm prior to entering Parliament.

Tim has the honour of being the youngest ever Mayor of the City of Stonnington.

Prior to his term as Mayor, Tim worked for Shadow Ministers in both Australia and the United Kingdom in a variety of different portfolio areas.

Tim was a member of the Australian Rowing Team between 2003 and 2006, winning a Bronze medal at the World Championships.
