Daniel Andrews puts Victorians at risk this fire season

Thursday, 15 November 2018

Daniel Andrews has lost control of the CFA dispute and continues his war on our volunteers.

Under the Andrews Labor Government, the CFA has lost 3534 operational volunteers, many who served on Black Saturday and have kept Victorians safe every fire season for decades.

Daniel Andrews’ war on volunteers comes on the eve of our deadly fire season. He has even turned a blind eye to the UFU bullying one of his own former Ministers, Jane Garrett.

Daniel Andrews continues to protect his union mates to guarantee their support, but at what cost? The cost of Victorians’ safety.

Daniel Andrews should stand up and protect our volunteers, instead he will remain silent supporting his mate Peter Marshall and his militant union.

Daniel Andrews’ war on volunteers is out of control, jeopardising the safety of Victorians this fire season and preferring to use our hardworking CFA volunteers as a political tool.

A Liberal Nationals Government will always protect those who protect us by enshrining the rights of volunteers in legislation, launching a Royal Commission into Victoria’s fire services and introducing a Presumptive Rights Legislation Bill into parliament in the first sitting week of 2019.

Only the Liberal Nationals have a plan to end the CFA dispute and get back in control of fire safety in Victoria.

Comments attributable Shadow Minister for Emergency Services, Brad Battin:

“If the Premier refuses to support, protect and stand up for his own team - he will never stand up for Victorians.

Daniel Andrews has lost control of the CFA dispute leaving Victorians’ safety at risk, watching thousands of CFA volunteers leave.

Only a Liberal Nationals Government has a plan to support volunteers and better protect our state.”
