More Labor lies, cover-ups and confusion over pairing to absent MP

Monday, 9 April 2018

Reports today that Dr Carling-Jenkins denies Labor’s claims that she did not ask for a pair throws further confusion and doubt about what really happened that week.

The Herald Sun online reports that Dr Carling-Jenkins has denied suggestions she had done a deal with the government to be absent during the controversial Fire Services Reform Bill and confirmed that her opposition to Daniel Andrews’ plan to tear up the CFA had not changed.

In this morning’s news report, Dr Carling-Jenkins says that she was told by the Andrews Labor Government that as an independent she could not get a ‘pair’.

The same news report says that Dr Carling-Jenkins also denied she told Labor Whip Jaclyn Symes, at the start of the Parliamentary sitting week, that she would not seek a pair for future absence that week.

Much of this confusion can be cleared up with Daniel Andrews answering these simple questions: “Did Dr Carling-Jenkins ask for a pair and was it denied and if so why?”
