Labor’s real manufacturing blueprint: increase power prices

Wednesday, 13 September 2017

Today Daniel Andrews announced his ‘Advancing Victorian Manufacturing’ Blueprint, but the reality is Labor’s only blueprint for manufacturing is to shut it down with soaring energy prices.

Daniel Andrews forced the closure of Hazelwood with his $252 million coal tax and ideological energy policies.

Since the announcement of Hazelwood’s closure in November 2016, Victoria’s wholesale electricity prices have almost tripled.

Under Labor, Victorian manufacturing and businesses are being forced to either absorb or pass on soaring power costs, or close.

A Liberal Nationals Government will scrap Daniel Andrews’ go-it-alone renewables target to prevent electricity prices soaring even higher.
