Victorians to sweat through summer blackouts

Wednesday, 6 September 2017

Daniel Andrews must consider purchasing working generators at the Hazelwood Power Station to keep Victorian lights on this summer.

Energy is an essential service, but because of Labor, Victoria no longer has enough power supply.

According to the Australian Energy Market Operator, Victoria faces blackouts this summer because Daniel Andrews forced the closure of Hazelwood with his $252 million coal tax.

Power shortfalls will put Victorians at risk, particularly the elderly and children who are vulnerable to heat.

As a result of Labor’s ideological energy policies to shut down coal, looming power outages will cripple Victorian businesses and put jobs in jeopardy.

Hazelwood Power Station assets will be auctioned off from tomorrow, and Victoria’s energy reliability and affordability will go with it.
