Neil was elected to the Victorian Legislative Assembly, representing the District of Forest Hill on 27 November 2010.

Prior to entering Parliament, Neil was a Chartered Accountant in public practice for over twenty five years, specialising in audit and investigations.  Neil is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and a Member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.  Neil holds a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) and a Graduate Certificate in Financial Investigations.  Neil was a Registered Tax Agent from 1983-2009, a Registered Company Auditor from 1992-2011 and a Certified Fraud Examiner from 2005 to 2012.

Neil has been actively involved in the community for many years, serving on the board of a wide range of not for profit organisations, including his children’s school and his local church.

Neil is a long time resident of the eastern suburbs, is married with four children and in his spare time enjoys family activities, cycling, walking and AFL (Essendon).
