About Jane

Senator for Victoria

Prior to entering the Senate, Jane had a twenty year career in the financial services sector.

After completing a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Melbourne, she began her career at NAB, and went on to senior executive roles at Deutsche Bank and Rothschild Asset Management.

Immediately prior to entering Parliament Jane worked at Australia’s largest superannuation fund, AustralianSuper, where she advised on strategic policy.

While taking time away from financial services to raise her three young children, Jane returned to Melbourne University to study politics.  After watching  a close friend suffer from crippling post-natal depression, Jane joined the board of the Post and Antenatal Depression Association (PANDA).  She later went on to serve on the board of two of Melbourne’s iconic institutions, The Royal Children’s Hospital and Federation Square.

Jane was elected to the Senate at the 2016 federal election, and since that time she has chaired the Senate Standing Committee on Economics.
