About Golam

Liberal for Kororoit

Golam Haque is the Liberal candidate for Kororoit for the 2018 state election. Golam lives with his wife and two children and is committed to providing a safe, strong and prosperous local community for the people of Kororoit.

Having moved to Melbourne 15 years ago from Bangladesh, Golam has become a strong advocate for migrant communities. He has been intricately involved in the Melbourne Bangladeshi community and has seen the value of proper engagement and providing local opportunities for jobs and education. Golam knows that Kororoit has been taken for granted by Labor for far too long and is determined to provide better outcomes for all locals.

Golam has a degree in Automotive Engineering from RMIT, and works as a branch manager for an education and migration agent company. A passionate local, Golam stood for Melton City Council in 2016 because he knows that real action and change only happens when passionate people put their hand up and get involved. That’s why he is standing for parliament, to advocate for strong, sustainable local communities that embrace the cultural diversity of the region.
