Brad Rowswell was born at the Sandringham Hospital and grew up in Beaumaris. He went to school at Stella Maris, Beaumaris and then St Bede’s College, Mentone. Growing up, Brad played football for the Beaumaris Sharks and cricket for the Beaumaris Cricket Club. Brad was a Cub and then Scout with the 9th Sandringham Scouts and 2nd Beaumaris Sea Scouts. Brad is a life member of the Beaumaris Conservation Society and a member of the Friends of Bayside Roads.  He is deeply committed to preserving our local environment.

After graduating from university, Brad worked in private, public and not-for-profit sectors including in education and defence industry.  He has actively engaged in public policy advocacy and community engagement for the majority of his life.

Brad is married to Kate and together they have a baby daughter, Abigail.

During the course of the Victorian Election campaign, Brad has consulted broadly with residents and community groups to developed a comprehensive plan that will preserve the low-density neighbourhood character and liveability of our area, fight congestion in our streets, keep our community safe and deliver the infrastructure and investment needed for future generations: for schools, sporting clubs and the Sandringham Hospital. 

Brad was elected as the Member for Sandringham at the 24 November 2018 Victorian Election.  Shortly after his election, he was promoted by the Leader of the Opposition into the Shadow Ministry as Shadow Assistant Minister for Education.

He was officially sworn in as a member of the 59th Parliament of Victoria on Wednesday 19 December 2018 and delivered his Maiden Speech on the same day.
