Neale Burgess was elected the Member for Hastings at the November 2006 election and was re-elected in 2010.
Neale graduated from Finley High School in 1972 and has gone on to complete a Bachelor of Law (Honours) from the Queensland University of Technology and a Certificate of Mediation in Law at Bond University.
Prior to entering parliament Neale worked as a Barrister and Solicitor in the Supreme Court of Queensland and the Supreme Court of Victoria. He was Chief Executive Officer of the Bluey Day Foundation in 2003 and ran a small technology consulting business for nearly 10 years.
Neale has been an active community member over many years, filling a number of different roles across many organisations. He has been Vice Chair of the Langwarrin Residents Association and held memberships to the Langwarrin Rotary Club and the Westernport Chamber of Commerce. Other groups Neale has been active with include the Friends of Bogg Creek, the Langwarrin and Somerville Chamber of Commerce and the Westernport Historical Society.
Neale lives locally wife his wife and has three children.
