David Hodgett was elected the Member for Kilsyth at the November 2006 election, and was re-elected in 2010.
David has a Bachelor of Business from RMIT, a Graduate Certificate in Communication and E-Business from Swinburne University and an Advanced Diploma from the Australian Institute of Company Directors
As the former Mayor of the Shire of Yarra Ranges, David has an in-depth understanding of the needs of Kilsyth. Having been a councilor in Yarra Ranges Shire for 8 years and through his roles on bodies including the Yarra Ranges Enterprise Centres, and the Shire of Yarra Ranges Community Safety Committee, David has a proven track record of delivering for his local community.
David's knowledge and experience in a wide range of matters has enabled him to develop into a valuable member of his community, whose counsel is sought and respected.
In November 2009, David entered the Shadow Cabinet as the Shadow Cabinet Secretary.
David is currently the Minister for Ports, the Minister for Major Projects and the Minister for Manufacturing in the Napthine Government.
David, his wife Tina, and their family live in Mooroolbark. David has lived in Mooroolbark for over 20 years.
