Terry Mulder was elected the Member for Polwarth in 1999 and re-elected in 2002, 2006 and 2010.
Terry was born in Colac and attended Trinity College and Colac College. He received his Pesticide License and Certificate of Weed Identification and Control in 1993. In 1997, Terry completed an Internal Quality Assurance Auditing Certificate through VECCI and is a Fellow of the Australian Organisation for Quality.
Before entering parliament, Terry spent more than 10 years in the Postmaster General’s Office before becoming Managing Director of Terence’s Cleaning & Property Maintenance Services – a position he held for more than 20 years. Between 1994 and 1999 Terry coupled his Managing Directors position with that of a Consultant for Industry Specific Quality Assurance Services.
Terry is an active member of the local community through his involvement with the Colac Turf Club Marketing Committee, and his memberships to the South Colac Football and Netball clubs. He is also a member of VECCI.
Promoted to the Shadow Ministry while serving his first term, Terry became the Shadow Minister for Water Resources in August 2002. Following the 2002 election, Terry was given responsibility for the Transport portfolio. In late 2006, the Transport portfolio was split and Terry became Shadow Minister for Public Transport, Roads and Ports.
Terry is currently the Minister for Public Transport and the Minister for Roads.
Terry and his wife Susan have three children. His interests include racing, football and gardening.
