Andrew Katos was elected the Member for South Barwon district at the 2010 Victorian State election. Andrew and his wife Vicki live locally in Highton.
Andrew graduated from Belmont High School in 1987 and went to Deakin University, completing a Bachelor of Commerce in 1990. For almost 20 years Andrew was the Managing Director of Katos Fish Supply. This experience as a local business owner/operator has given Andrew a great understanding of the needs of small business in the local community.
A dedicated and active member of the greater Geelong area, Andrew was a Councillor for the City of Greater Geelong being elected in 2008. He is also a member of the Geelong Club, the Geelong Football Club and the Coalition of Concerned Councillors.
As a local councillor Andrew has gained a better understanding of the needs of the community and will being working hard to ensure important local issues are put into the spotlight. Issues such as law and order, public transport and better local services are a high priority for Andrew as he fights for a better deal for residents of South Barwon.
